Wines / Barbera d’Alba DOC San Giovanni

Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore
San Giovanni
Vine: Selection of grape Barbera
Esposition: South-west facing
Pruning: Guyot (6-8 buds / vine)
N° Vines / hectare: 4.500
Yield / hectare: 50-60 q / Ha
Plant year: 1950
Vinification
Crushing and destemming, maceration in contact with the skins in fermenters with rotating blades for about 6 - 7 days at a controlled temperature. After ageing, it is bottled and aged in bottles lying down for at least 6 months before packaging and shipping.
Organoleptic Characteristics, Preservation
Soft with an intense ruby-red colour, the Barbera has Notes
of blackberries and ripe cranberries; on the palate it remains elegant and powerful, with good potential for ageing. We recommend drinking it from the second to the sixth year at a temperature of 17-18°C with salami and cheeses and rich first courses with meat sauce.
